What Joy Fills My Heart

I cannot express to you how much joy has filled my heart today. I just found out that someone I am my best friend have been praying for for years finally accepted Christ. Let me give you a bit of background.

My best friend and roommate went to Thailand together our sophomore year of college. While there, God really moved A's heart and gave her a passion for the people. In particular, God put an unquenchable fire in her heart to pray for a certain indvidual in Thailand. And let me tell you--pray she did. In fact, I don't think I have ever met anyone who prayed so faithfully for the salvation of another person. This individual was Buddhist and a very sincere follower. But she remained faithful in prayer. Though there were times (long times) of utter darkness where she wondered if this person would ever surrendur their heart, I never doubted. I always knew that God would reward her for her faithfullness. She was like the persistant widow that Jesus talks about in Luke. What an incredible role model she has been. Now, I am sitting in my classroom and crying tears of joy because I know that I have a new family member in Christ Jesus.

Thank you A, for teaching me what it means to pray without ceasing. Who knew that a girl who spent her summers in Cape Cod could teach a Montana girl like me so very much.

And most of all, I pray Lord Jesus for being the Great Pursurer. You never, ever, ever give up on your creation. I love you so much.
