I have mixed views regarding today. As far as teaching goes, it went very well. I couldn't really ask for more. The children were well behaved and polite and I think we got along quite well. They were a bit chatty at times but nothing abnormal. Two or three of my children did not sleep very much last night and were exhausted. It was difficult to keep those children alert. Some kids have pretty thick shells but I am going to strive to break that. The age range of my students is 8-10. Some kids are repeats and others have come to public school for the first time. Some are reading at a kindergarten level while others are at a 4th grade level. Engaging children this diverse is challenging and so exhausting. I fell asleep on my classroom floor after they left.
But the whole of my day was kind of saddened by the fact that I lost my keys and my cell phone. I am not quite sure how I did it, but they are both gone. I now do not have keys to my apartment, classroom, post office box or truck. I also managed to leave my truck lights on, but I don't have my truck keys so I can't shut them off so my battery is probably dead on my truck.
If you all could pray for strength for me, I would really appreciate it. I am really drained right now as having lost such important items is weighing my spirit.
Love,
Miss Brendsel
